WINES

 Winemaker, Ivy, believes that you cannot make good quality wines from bad quality grapes, therefore only estate wines are produced in order for us to have complete control of the grapes used in our award-winning wines. Most of the grapes are picked by hand under the watchful eyes of Ivy’s husband and viticulturist, Alister Oates. |
Jason’s Hill Range |
Sauvignon Blanc |
This flagship white has excellent varietal expressions with delicate asparagus and grassy complexities. The wine has a refreshing crispness and a well balanced finish. |
Chenin Blanc |
| A light white wine with a soft acidity and delicate crisp fruit complexities. Guava, peach, pineapple and other tropical fruit aromas can be picked up on the nose. |
Wooded White Blend |
Only a small amount of this complex wine was produced. The blend of Nouvelle, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc was wooded in small American Oak barrels for four months. The wood is well balanced with rich citrus, pineapple and guava flavours as well as green flavours such as asparagus, green peppers and grass coming through on the nose. |
Chardonnay |
Matured in French oak barrels for 4 months this is a complex wine with rich citrus and apricot aromas, supported by subtle mild oak. Enjoy an elegant finish with a long aftertaste. |
Viognier |
A cultivar that is relatively new to the South African wine scene. An elegant wine with spice, orange peel, citrus, and honey flavours complemented by four month French Oak maturation. Serve this wine slightly chilled with rich spicy dishes, curried chicken or smoked fish. |
Pinotage |
This proudly South African cultivar has a deep berry colour and typical ripe strawberry and banana flavours on the nose. Ten months in French Oak barrels has, however, added interesting wood components with a subtle hint of coffee. The wine is well-balanced with a long aftertaste. |
Merlot |
Jason’s Hill’s flagship Red is a full bodied and well rounded off wine with a deep rich colour. Matured in French Oak barrels for 14 months, this wine has exotic spice flavours and a hint of wood. The wine has an excellent varietal expression on the nose and palate and a lingering aftertaste. |
Shiraz |
Shiraz is one of winemaker, Ivy’s, favourite cultivars to work with. It is the only one of our red wines that has been matured in both French and American Oak barrels. The wine is richly textured with outspoken fruity flavours and a spicy, almost smoky finish. |
Cabernet Sauvignon |
A rich and complex wine with intensely vibrant berry fruit flavours. A typical, well-balanced wine with velvety, ripe fine-grained tannins, harmonizing well with the hint of oak. |
Brut Sparkling Rosè |
This beautiful sparkling wine has fresh and delicate floral aromas, combined with juicy strawberry and plum flavours on the palate. The ultra soft acidity and crisp bubbly finish makes it the ideal companion to cheer up any celebration |

Jason’s Creek Classic Red |
A charming red blend consisting of Merlot, Malbec, and Shiraz. Matured in French Oak for ten months this wine is smooth and delightfully uncomplicated with delicious berry and spice flavours. |
